Security Features

Introduction

At PayPlus Software, Inc., we understand that security is very important to our ezPayPlus users and are very serious about safeguarding personal information online. As a primary security measure, you may access your personal information online from the ezPayPlus web site only after you have registered and created a personal ID and password. Although we cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality of data transmitted over the public Internet, we encrypt all data transmissions between your computer and our data center using the strongest-available, industry-standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocols. Your data transmissions to us, including your personal ID and password, are not decrypted until they are inside our secure perimeter. Once there, they are subjected to additional security procedures common to the best business practices of the leading e-commerce companies. Any information provided to you is encrypted before it passes our secure perimeter and is decoded once it reaches your browser.

Encryption

The encryption process, which scrambles your data into a form that only your browser and the ezPayPlus web server can understand, is an effective way to achieve data security. Encryption significantly reduces the possibility of unauthorized users intercepting and reading your information. To access ezPayPlus you MUST use a browser that supports 128-bit encryption.

Personal IDs and Passwords

Personal IDs are used by PayPlus Software employees as a means of identifying ezPayPlus users, and are not encrypted information. On the other hand, for security reasons, Passwords are encrypted and are known only to the individual user. No one at PayPlus Software will ever need to know your Password, and you should never furnish it to anyone who claims to represent PayPlus Software. Together, your Personal ID and Password are your credentials to access your personal information online and add to the security of the ezPayPlus web site.

Password Security

You are allowed three attempts to enter your Personal ID and Password correctly on the login page. If you are unsuccessful, then you can select the Get Help link below the question "Forget Your Password?" to send an e-mail message to the customer service representative of your PEO requesting your Password be reset. It is a good additional security measure to change your Password frequently. Simply login, go to "Make Changes", and click on "Change Login." Also, if you forget your Password, you may request that it be reset. Just click on "Get Help" on the login page.

Automatic Log Out

As a safety precaution, after twenty minutes of inactivity we will terminate your secured browser session for you. If your session is terminated before you have completed your online tasks, simply return to the login page to resume your work. When you have finished your Internet session, be sure to log out by clicking on the "Log Out" button. It is also a good idea to close your browser after you log out, and clear your browser history occasionally to ensure that your information is cleared from your browser's memory.

Browser Navigation

As an additional security measure, we prevent pages containing your private information from being saved on your computer's hard drive. You may receive error messages from your browser requiring you to click "reload" or "refresh" to go back or forward in your online sessions when you use your browser's back or forward buttons. Simply follow the instructions to access the last page you visited. We don’t use “cookies” to save information on your PC. The preferred method of moving around the ezPayPlus web site is to use the menu system and not use the Back and Forward buttons of the browser. These buttons can be unreliable and could take you to a web location that you do not want. We have also provided a “Start” button to bring you back to the beginning of the ezPayPlus application.

Summary

You play an important role in protecting your security. Above all, maintain the secrecy of your Internet Password. Never tell anyone your Password or write it down in a place where it could be associated with your Personal ID. If you think that someone else may have access to your Password, please contact your employer immediately. It's a good idea to change your Password often (you can do this anytime by going to "Make Changes" and clicking on Change Login).
